Handheld XRF

Handheld X-ray fluorescent (XRF) analyzers have the capability to quantify or qualify nearly any element from Magnesium to Uranium, depending on specific instrument configurations.

Portable XRF spectrometers allow you to take the battery operated analyzer to the sample rather than bringing the sample into the lab. This is especially useful when the test specimen is large or heavy.

Handheld XRF Spectrometer

The S1 TITAN is among the lightest (1.44 kg, including battery) tube-based handheld XRF analyzers on the market today. Fast analysis speed and exceptional accuracy are two key attributes that help define the S1 TITAN.

Other innovative features include an integrated touch-screen color display, 50 kV X-ray tube, SMART GradeTM timing, SharpBeamTMoptimized X-ray geometry, Silicon Drift Detector (SDD), and an extremely tough housing that is sealed against humid and dusty environments.  


The S1 TITAN series is available in two configurations, the S1 TITANLE and S1 TITANSP. Both use Bruker’s SharpBeam® technology. The S1 TITANLE uses Bruker’s innovative SDD detector to give you incredibly fast analysis times. The S1 TITANSP is configured with a money-saving SiPIN detector. In addition, S1 TITAN can be configured with calibrations that are optimized for a variety of sample materials- including a wide range of alloys, various mining & environmental samples, as well as restricted materials.

SharpBeamTM technology

The S1 TITAN’s patent pending SharpBeamTM technology optimizes the detector and tube geometry. The optimized geometry has many desirable effects, including:

  • Increases battery life

The S1 SORTER is a value-oriented product purpose-built for the metals market. This instrument, based on a SiPIN detector, includes a fixed filter that limits the range of elements which can be effectively measured to Ti through U. The S1 SORTER is a good solution for analyzing standard alloys such as low alloy steels, stainless steels, high temperature alloys, brasses, bronzes and other nickel, copper, and cobalt-based alloys. For these alloy families, 5 to 10 seconds is a reasonable measurement time and will provide good alloy ID and Chemistry. The maximum sample temperature that can be analyzed is 500°C

ElvaX ProSpector

Elvatech is proud to introduce The ElvaX ProSpector, the latest XRF system to join our family of handheld XRF Analyzers. Like all Elvatech products, this portable, handheld EDXRF elemental analysis system is designed to be intuitive and user friendly. The system utilizes a 7.2 Vdc Li-ion battery. Under normal use, of handheld XRF Analyzer has an operating time of 8 hours before charging is required. The ElvaX ProSpector analyzer operates at a high voltage of 40 kV but can be set for up to 50 kV, and has a detectable range of Cl to U. The light element option has a detectable range from Mg to U. The ElvaX ProSpector operates under control of the HP iPAQ PDA with 4-inches high resolution touch-screen display, providing high flexibility and usability of the system. The optional lab stand allows using the ElvaX ProSpector as a laboratory grade instrument under PC or laptop control. All equipment includes on-site service support by a team of engineers with many years of solid EDXRF experience.
